West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong

West Kowloon Cultural District is a landmark project in Hong Kong at a predominant location on the Northern shore of the magnificent Victoria Harbour. It's vision is to bring the city a world-class development integrating arts, cultural, entertainment, residential and commercial elements.

Based on the concept design by Foster + Partners as selected by the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, there is a provision of 23 hectares of open space including a great park, central boulevard linking up the various piazzas for the cultural venues, continuous waterfront providing direct linkage to Tsim Sha Tsui, terraced gardens at various levels of the cultural venues, and the landscape deck and civic space on Austin Road providing linkage to Kowloon Station, Austin Station and also the future West Kowloon Terminus. Our landscape master plan envisions the West Kowloon Cultural District to be filled with extensive planting and lush landforms as a wider open space network of Tsim Sha Tsui and Yau Ma Tei. This creates an oasis in the hustle of the Kowloon district, and it also contributes to an improvement in the dense urban environment and the quality of life of the community.
